Spring Fashion

It’s official, we have entered that stage of the year when we are desperate for warmer temperatures and sunshine but the weather doesn’t seem to be playing along. This leaves us with the question: How do I dress for Spring? The trick is to transition away from heavy accessories to lighter weight, but still warm pieces. To accessorise over knits and light jackets but ditch the winter coat. To pick up on the pastel trends of the SS season and brighten up your palette early. To treat yourself to accessories that can still be worn as the weather gets warmer as well as in the cooler evenings.

ACCESSORIES

Little faux fur scarves or collars will keep your neck warm over a jumper or shirt whilst giving a nod to the warmer weather ahead.
Small bags are big news this SS – bum bags, belt bags, cross body, round the waist or in the hand. Vogue’s Liana Satenstein found that carrying a Micro bag ‘changed her life’. She found her ‘hands felt lighter, and so did . Less worrying. Less fumbling. a carefree air’
Start wearing your little summer whites and lighter colours, teamed with warm accessories to ensure that you can carry it off without goose bumps.
Invest in a couple of staples to carry you over from colder days that can also work on the cooler summer evenings as the year progresses.

COLOUR

Pastel colours are great for transitioning; both as the weather warms up and later in the summer for sitting outside as the nights start getting cooler again.
Soft pink was making itself known in AW17 but it is a natural for the SS season. It is a pretty colour that will work with all the pastel shades and is good set against denim.
This dove blue could be seen all over the catwalks following on from the obsession with blue and white stripes. All the blues of the spectrum are going to work this spring summer and this beautiful hue will work across an array of colours.
The mood for spring is definitely upbeat and light-hearted, and that could be easily seen via the sheer amount of yellow around as the season’s runaway runway trend. However bright and sunny, yellow is not for everyone so opt for a more muted version. Accessories offer the perfect way to accent your outfit and lift darker outfits into summer.
