How I Style My Two Favourite Pieces This Summer

I make my clothes and accessories work hard for me. I expect a lot of a piece, I want to be able to wear it to meetings, on holiday, and on the school run.

So here's how I've been styling my two favourite pieces in the collection this summer.

What do you wear to survive the summer holidays?

The school summer holidays are the only endurance sport I've participated in this summer. So I needed to feel comfortable, feel good, and still look like myself.

An oversized striped shirt with some Adidas shorts has been a core look for me this summer. Chuck on your Sport Gilet in the evenings or first thing — this look will take me through to September, for the school run and easy Saturdays.

What do you wear to summer work events?

I've had a few work events to attend, with more coming up, so this is my go-to look: a classic tan culotte, a crisp white shirt, my faux sheepskin Sport Gilet and some little statement shoes. This outfit also looks great with red flip-flops.

What's a good outfit for a long work lunch?

Running around London and having long "work" lunches might be my favourite thing to do. And I'm not sure there's a look that sums me up more (some might call it my uniform): oversized white shirt, high-rise trousers, cool-girl trainers, and a chic Mini Triangle Bag.

What's the best bag for holiday?

I'm never going to be someone who dresses up on holiday. I want easy, comfortable clothes I can wear on multiple days but that still make me feel chic. My Mini Suede Triangle Bag went everywhere with me in Île de Ré this year, taken for beachside lunches, thrown in the bike basket for market visits, and carried to the bar in the evening.

The takeaway

I mean it when I say I expect a lot from my clothes, and I hope you do too. This is your reminder to invest in clothes and accessories that fit your lifestyle, not just an outfit.

Big love

FAQ

What is the Sport Gilet good for?
It's an easy layer for cool mornings and evenings,  thrown on over shorts and a shirt for the school run, or over any casual summer outfit.

Is the Triangle Bag good for travel?
Yes, it's built to go from beach lunches to market visits to evening drinks without missing a beat, which made it the one bag I packed for every day in Île de Ré this summer.

How do I style one piece for multiple occasions?
Choose versatile basics (an oversized shirt, high-rise trousers) and let one statement piece, like a gilet or a bag, do the work of dressing the look up or down.
